Bruce Stephens: A Brief Biography
As a leading-edge member of the “Baby-Boom” generation, I was born and raised in Los Angeles. After obtaining a B.A. in Economics from U.C.L.A. and then spending a year traveling abroad, I returned to academia at the University of Chicago and, two years hence, received an M.B.A. in Marketing and Behavioral Science. A long-time maven of European culture, I continue to use my French and Italian language skills whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Since moving to New York, my career pursuits have transitioned from advertising to film and video production and finally, to mainframe computer programming and systems analysis. Most recently, I completed an 11-year stint at TIAA-CREF in that latter field.
Now, in my fourth career as a Senior Male Model, I enthusiastically welcome the opportunity of conveying to my fellow “Boomers” a highly positive image (by example) of the many wonderful things that can lie ahead in their own senior years. I sincerely feel that growing older can be the very best chapter in one’s life experience.
As an avid pursuer of physical fitness, I have run in several marathons and currently work out at least 5 times a week. In this regard, cycling/aerobics and weight training continue to be my “drugs” of choice. This past January, I re-discovered downhill skiing in Vermont and later, continued that pursuit in Utah.
My hobbies continue to be computer imaging and 4-part “barbershop-style” singing as a bass with the Big Apple Chorus (http://bigapplechorus.org/) And, to complete the richness of my life, I have two great kids who are both currently in college – Gail (Senior at Northwestern University) and Eric (Freshman at Roger Williams University).
